Welcome on the Site of the birds garden, ornithological zoo of the drome

While walking through this zoological and botanical park you will discover more than one thousand birds ( 200 different species ) of the 5 continents scattered along 6 shaded and undulating hectares. A peculiar care was taken in order to show splendid birds, while respecting their biotope for their own well-being.
But the Birds' Garden is also famous for its two daily shows during summer time:first Parrots then birds of prey( among other surprises...) flying in total liberty in an educational and enchantin surroundings for kids as well as for grown ups !
A trully scenery await you around birds of the globe, for the whole family: the tropical greenhouse, the 'tiny farm', a bar-inn with terrace, children playground, picnic areas, gift shop and even first time riding - baptism - on a poney !
However, the zoo is regularly rewarded as a breeding center for many endangered species that you will watch while walking in the pedagogical and flavoured alleys.
Observed, listen and relax all day long in the singing and sparkling patchwork of the zoo !
The Birds' Garden has been created in 1976, when Bernard LIAUZU, passionated with birds, lover of mother Nature, decided to stand on its own two feet; from an exclusively personal initiative, after a long experience gained among the biggest French Zoo such as Vincennes, The Jardin des Plantes in Paris, The Pal Zoo, Villards les dombes... a zoo from naked fields began to grow in Upie, year after year.

The zoo is daily opened all year long.
To find us more easily: we are located at less than 20 min driving from Southern Valence, one hour from Southern Lyon, 45 min from both Northern Montélimar and Die.
If you take the highway: Southern coming, take the Loriol Exit. Northern coming, take the Valence Sud Exit and then in both cases follow the city of Crest direction.
